Light is a weapon
Your lantern reveals secrets, exposes weaknesses and drives back what lives in the dark. The same oil feeds the lantern and burning arrows: light or fire — you decide.
Gothic dark fantasy · first-person action · in development
The Hermit defends people and churches against the demons of the Liar. He fights with iron and fire, learns prayers from holy books and rests in the silence of the church — before the ninth bell tolls.
The game
The Hermit: Book of Faith is a first-person action-adventure set in a dark fantasy world. A valley in the mountains, a village by a cathedral and roads full of fog: by day people live their lives, by night the dead rise from their graves and wolves watch from the mist.
The Hermit's lantern reveals secrets and drives back what lives in the dark. Every enemy follows a single rule — read it, and the fight becomes a puzzle.
Not for children. The Hermit is intended for adult players. It contains darkness, demonic enemies, combat and moments of fear. Our family game is a separate world — Brik & Lumi.

Features
Your lantern reveals secrets, exposes weaknesses and drives back what lives in the dark. The same oil feeds the lantern and burning arrows: light or fire — you decide.
Every enemy follows one readable rule: it fears light, hunts by sound, snuffs out torches or is drawn to the glow. Read the rule and the fight becomes a puzzle.
Walls crack, crumble and give way. Shatter the right stone and a new path opens — and the world remembers what you broke.
Prayers are learned from holy books and from the saints, spoken in ecclesiastical Latin. A prayer is a request, never a spell; magic belongs only to the enemy.
Fog that never fully lifts, storms that roll in, memories of the dead rising from the graves, illusions that break in the light, wolves watching from the treeline.
The church is a place of silence and safety. Kneel before the altar and pray — and watch the light rise like incense.
Villagers have their homes, their work and their paths. At noon the bell rings the Angelus and the people in the fields pause.
Conversations and cases are woven together: testimony from one case becomes evidence in another, and every lie has its own false note.
Some nights the dead hammer on the villagers' doors. Defend the village with iron, fire and powder — until dawn.
The world

A lake, mist and a church tower at dawn. The mountain valley is the Hermit's home — and his first line of defence.

Cottages beneath snowy peaks. People work, talk and keep their secrets — and everyone knows everyone.

The lantern cuts through the dark of the village at night. Here the day ends and the trial begins: the dead rise, and light becomes a weapon.
Before the ninth bell tolls.

It is first of all a gothic action game. It draws on Christian tradition and treats faith with respect, but it is not a project of the Church or of any parish.
